Day 1: Workshop 1 by Swati Dave

"Mental Mathematics in the Age of Computers and Calculators "

In this interactive workshop, we will explore the relevance of Mental Math skills in today’s technological world. Together we will delve into the importance of mental math skills in the math classroom and beyond, and study the application of Vedic Mathematics as an important tool for quick and efficient mental math calculations. We will also look into effective mental math teaching strategies that can be easily and effectively used in the math classroom.

This will be for about 20 minutes followed by questions and answers.

Day 1: Workshop 2 by Kenneth Williams

"Special Numbers, Special Shapes"

The workshop will show how to make use of certain special numbers and how a little ingenuity can help immensely in working with some seemingly awkward numbers. We then look at some special shapes and how we may use them in trigonometry.

This will be for about 20 minutes followed by questions and answers.



Day 2: Workshop 3 by James Glover

"Developing Strategic Thinking Skills"

This workshop will look into how Vedic Maths can help develop strategic thinking skills. Two simple problems, one a simple addition and the other squaring a two-sigit number, will be looked at and the various pathways to solutions will be considered. Participants will be invited to ask questions and suggest alternative methods.

This will be for about 10 minutes followed by questions and answers.

Day 2: Workshop 4 by Vinay Nair

"Squares and Square Roots"

Finding out patterns in Squares for easy computation of squares and identifying numbers that don't have a possibility of being a perfect Square. Calculating square root of perfect Squares using patterns.

This will be for about 10 minutes followed by questions and answers.
